Founded in 1979, Cathay Industries started out as a dedicated manufacturer of synthetic iron oxides. Three decades on we have become the world’s 2nd largest manufacturer in this area, and our facilities produce the highest quality, and highest purity, pigments in the world.
Over time, Cathay has diversified. We are now leaders in a number of related areas, including both organic and inorganic pigments, and other chemical solutions. We have organisations in the United States, Australasia, Asia, Europe, and Africa, with a particularly strong manufacturing presence in China and South-East Asia, and strong partnerships with companies across the globe.
Cathay Industries Africa is a subsidiary organisation of the global Cathay Industries Group, and is spearheaded from our headquarters in South Africa. We supply colour and various other chemical raw materials throughout the African continent.
